" I believe art is a form of communication. As an artist, I want to say it's a third form of language. This is how we communicate to the world and it is through our artwork."

Our Staff - Christine Kita

Art Instructor

After receiving a BFA at Kutztown University our art instructor, Christine Kita designed art for publications.  Over twenty  years ago, when working at a summer camp, she fell in love with teaching. Chris has taught preschoolers, children, teens and adults at Sea Breeze Preschool,  Pacific Art Gallery, County of Alameda  Public Libraries, Fremont Art Association and Private Art Studio.

Using an array of materials, including pencil, water color, charcoal, and pastel Chris loves to cultivate student's interest in art. She focuses on important principles including color, shapes, light and shadows, compositions and background. Chris likes to educate students by showing and discussing examples with them. She truly has a love for art and a love for teaching and we're so happy to have her!

Our Staff - Sherry Woodward

Art Instructor

I love to paint and draw... always have. Since my kids have all grown up and live in their own homes, I have taken over one of the bedrooms making it into my art studio. I like to think of my studio as my "laboratory" where daily experiments take place mixing color, trying different mediums and textures. This is where the magic happens. If you were a fly on my wall, you would probably hear me say, "What will happen if I do this?" Experimenting with color combinations, patterns and subject matter keeps me entertained for hours.

Our Staff - Justin Metoyer Mullon

Art Instructor

Justin is a figurative artist, Illustrator and educator who works in traditional and digital media. He believes "Art is a bridge between our conciousness and the world we live in."
He is currently working on a children's book that will release this year and building his own series of works in figurative symbolism and a variety of illustration projects including graphic novels.
He began his professional art and education practice in 2014. As an artist who cultivated his own training, Justin's educational practice prioritizes logical and efficient approaches to creating art. Creating with authenticity and the unique lense each of us view our lives with makes the art work matter.
Justin also creates private commissions, murals and offers artwork at a variety of markets and comic conventions on the west coast. He is interested in community building and collaboration with artists and art lovers alike.
